Kristin Syltevik, Oxney Organic Wine Estate - Ep5

The English Wine Diaries - A podcast by Rebecca Pitcairn

Categories:

This week my guest is Kristin Syltevik, founder of Oxney Organic Estate, near Rye in East Sussex. Norway-born Kristin started the vineyard, now the largest single-estate producer of English organic wine, in 2012 after a long career in public relations and runs it with her partner, Paul Dobson. Oxney's 35 acres of vines produce around 20% of all organic grapes grown in the UK, which are used to make an increasingly celebrated range of still and sparkling wines using low intervention methods. The vineyard forms part of a wider organic farming estate,  near the River Rother and has a winery, cellar door and holiday accommodation in the shape of a self catering cottage, barn accommodation and shepherd huts.Oxney is open for pre-bookable tours and tastings, picnics in the grounds and overnight stays.
