Neil Walker, The English Vine - Ep6

The English Wine Diaries - A podcast by Rebecca Pitcairn

Categories:

Today my guest in Neil Walker, who after 15 years working in banking, set up The English Vine in a bid to bring English Wine to a new generation of wine drinker via a no-nonsense approach. The company has already had an incredibly successful pop-up bar in Shorditch - the first in London to focus solely on English and Welsh wines - and Neil’s ‘Wine Revolution’ as he likes to call it, has continued with a series of immersive tastings throughout lockdown."Too many of us have been left with no choice but to judge the wine by the label. We intend to change that. We will make wine approachable, fun and most of all understandable. In fact we will be everything the wine industry isn’t."We talk about making his own wine, how he and his team are trying to change the perception of English wine and his plans to grow The English Vine with some quirky ideas and experiments.
