Congress Still Split Over Border, Ukraine Funding
The Fox News Rundown - A podcast by FOX News Radio
Congress narrowly avoided a government shutdown this past week, working late into Saturday to pass a short-term spending bill that funds the government until November 17th. While some Republican lawmakers, like Florida Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL), are looking to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, other GOP members are expressing satisfaction that they were able to strike a deal for the American people. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) joins the Rundown to discuss this weekend's deal and touches on why the U.S. doesn't have to sacrifice Ukraine's aid funding to help fund resources at the southern border. The trial of Sam Bankman-Fried begins today. The 31-year-old once ran a crypto-empire worth billions, but after the collapse of his company, FTX, customers of the cryptocurrency exchange found that nearly $8 billion was missing. In court, prosecutors will lay out the case against SBF in what experts are calling one of the biggest financial fraud cases in U.S. history. FOX Business correspondent Kelly O'Grady is the host of the new podcast, "The Trial of Sam Bankman-Fried," where she will cover the twists and turns of the trial that threatens to put the FTX founder behind bars for life. She explains the financial fraud that SBF stands accused of and the shockwaves of panic this is causing within the crypto industry.
