Extra: "Congress Has Become A Collection Of Kardashians"

The Fox News Rundown - A podcast by FOX News Radio

Long-time California congressman Kevin McCarthy is leaving Congress at the end of the year. The announcement came less than two months after the historic House vote to oust him as Speaker. That motion to vacate was supported by Democrats but led by eight of his fellow Republicans who took issue with his handling of spending issues. After the three weeks of GOP infighting, Mike Johnson eventually emerged as McCarthy's replacement as House speaker. McCarthy's exit means the GOP's slim majority will get even slimmer. Shortly after the news broke, FOX News Rundown host Lisa Brady spoke with Trey Gowdy, former South Carolina congressman, host of The Trey Gowdy podcast, and host of Sunday Night in America on the FOX News Channel. Gowdy weighed in on his friend's retirement, the state of our political system, and why he thinks the dysfunction in Congress is discouraging good people from running for office. He compared many lawmakers to the celebrity family, the Kardashians, accusing them of being more interested in getting attention than passing laws. We made edits for time and thought you might like to hear our entire conversation with Trey Gowdy. On today's FOX News Rundown Extra, you'll hear all of our fiery interview with the FOX host and former Congressman and get even more of his take on what he says is wrong with Washington.
