The Political Risks Of An Impeachment Inquiry

The Fox News Rundown - A podcast by FOX News Radio

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday gave the go-ahead for an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, after facing increased pressure from conservatives in the House. The investigation will focus on whether or not the president benefitted from his son Hunter Biden's foreign business deals, which have been under federal investigation since 2018. GOP Pollster and member of the FOX News National Decision Team Daron Shaw breaks down the political risks that come with this inquiry, how it compares to impeachment fights of the past, and if this latest development opens the door to a serious third-party candidate. A new gun suspension order has New Mexicans up in arms, as they claim the ruling is a violation of Second Amendment rights. The temporary suspension, put in place by New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham was enacted under an emergency public health order, prompted by the recent fatal shootings of a 13-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy in recent months. Democrats and Republicans have criticized the ruling, claiming the suspension of open and concealed carry laws for Bernalillo County residents will not stop criminals from committing crimes but only prohibits law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves. On the Rundown, New Mexico State Representative John Block (R-51st District) discusses why this order unjustly violates constitutional rights, what complaints he's hearing from both Republicans and Democrats regarding the ruling, and why many believe this action could set back the creation of productive gun control laws.   Plus, commentary by Jason Rantz, Host of the Jason Rantz Show and author of "What’s Killing America."
