#80 - Kurt Garcia | Founder of Motor City Tele

Kurt Garcia grew up in Redford, MI just outside of Detroit. He went to college at Michigan Tech in the Upper Peninsula of the state where he first learned how to ski. While earning his degree as an Electrical Engineer his love for skiing grew and he spent countless hours skiing with his friends. After college he moved back to Detroit. By chance a friend invited him to start teaching skiing at Mt. Brighton. That same friend ended up introducing him to Telemark skiing as well as few years after that. After years of people asking he and his friends where they could find Telemark gear to try locally, he decided to buy some additional gear to start a modest fleet to rent out to people. In 2020 he set up an LLC under the name Motor City Tele and began renting Telemark equipment to interested folks from the area.
