IF YOU ARE ALSO A TEACHER: “Teachers are often faced with grief, sadness, overwhelm, and anger to deal with all on their own. Who holds the teachers and lets them cry? Who hugs them until they don’t need it any longer? Who tells these teachers that everything is going to be OK? The answer is often no one, which leaves teachers feeling both isolated and worn out.”—Throwing Rocks To hear more about this topic and many others related to teacher trauma and mental health. sign up for my session with Keep Indiana Learning on 1/21 from 4-5pm!  As a trauma survivor myself- and Lindsey and I hate the work victim - I devoured this book in 12 hours. Although I enjoy reading a chapter or so a day, I'm not usually one to get that sucked in, but BABY I WAS!  Have I ever been a first year teacher? No, but I have been a young woman in the workplace, and that alone has it's obstacles and drama. Whether you work in corporate or you are in fact one of this country's amazing young educators, this episode is for you. Before I go any farther, I want to say a thank you to you teachers for everything that you do that is seen and everything that you do that is unseen. Thank you for taking on this insurmountable task for the future generations of this world. You guys are real life heroes.  Lindsey and I start our interview questions at the beginning. Where she was 23 years old & starting her first year as a high school English teacher. She quickly was buried in work, and barely had any identity outside of that title of 'Teacher'. She says, "I had absolutely no coping skills". Then Lindsey and I take a turn, because ultimately, this book & this interview is about trauma, teacher trauma, mental health & the importance around teacher's mental health. Dive in with us as we talk about what it took for her to heal after a seriously insane first year as a teacher.  What is the teacher trauma Lindsey experienced in her first year of teaching that would ultimately change the course of her life forever? Well, listen in sister friend!  And last but not least ~ for ALL the HEAT!!-Join my email list and get a free worksheet to work through self doubt: Click HERE-Follow our FUELher FAITH playlist on SPOTIFY-Interview guests SCRIPTURES
