Carrie Grant is a Bafta award-winning broadcaster, vocal coach and campaigner. Her TV and music career has spanned over 35 years. She is currently a reporter for BBC’s The One Show and regularly presents shows for Radio London. She won a MOBO award in ’98 and a BASCA in 2008 for her lifetime services to the music industry.   Carrie started her career at the age of 16yrs as a dancer on Top of The Pops. She then went onto represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest at the age of 17yrs. Carrie has been a backing vocalist and vocal section fixer for many years for Diana Ross, Billy Ocean, Roberta Flack, Take That, Sheena Easton, Sting, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart and many others. It was whilst working with Take That she was asked to become a vocal coach. She has coached The Spice Girls, Will Young, S Club 7, Demi Lovato and Gwyneth Paltrow. She has the biggest selling vocal coaching book in the world and the biggest selling online vocal coaching course in the world. Her vocal coaching DVD spent 4 weeks at No1 in the DVD charts. She has written 6 children’s books.   In 2001 Carrie was a coach on Pop Idol and in 2002 she was asked to judge and coach on BBC’s Fame Academy.  Carrie has taken part in many TV shows and series some which have been written for her.   Alongside her TV and music career she is the President of the Unite Union for Community Practitioners and Health Visitors (CPHVA) as well as being the Patient Lead for the College of Medicine and an Ambassador for three charities: Crohns & Colitis UK (having had Crohn’s Disease herself for the over thirty years), The National Autistic Society and The Diana Award. She sits on the largest Transforming Care Partnership Panel in the UK for Learning Disability and Autism. Carrie is a keen campaigner for change in Healthcare Systems and the celebration of Neuro-diversity in society. She is an anti-bullying Ambassador and promotes adoption. Carrie has chaired and given keynote addresses at many health and education conferences in the UK, Europe and America.   In July 2018 Carrie was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Bedfordshire for her services to charity, her husband David was awarded an MBE for service to the music industry in 2019. Together they host the Saturday breakfast show each week on BBC Radio London.   Carrie has participated in steering groups for white papers and has recently spearheaded gathering a group of experts in Autism in the UK to share best practice and promote change for females with Autism as well as supporting the launch of the world’s first All Party Parliamentary Group for ADHD.   Together with her husband, David she runs a number of community support groups from her home. One monthly parent support group for 75 families has run for four years and another has run weekly for the past 8 yrs.   Carrie has four children, Olivia 23yrs – an actress currently starring in cult series  ‘Sex Education’ on Net Flicks, Talia 16yrs – an actress currently staring in Hollyoaks, Imogen 12yrs and Nathan 8yrs. Three of the children are birth children and one is adopted.
