She rose to fame in 2001 as the lead vocalist of the band iiO, known for their hit single "Rapture," which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. The band's 2006 single "Is It Love?" also topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart.Starting her solo career in 2005, Ali released her debut album Embers in 2009, with three singles, including "Love Story," reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart.
