If you live in an area with pollen, you’re dealing with histamines whether you know it or not. They’re what’s responsible for your runny nose, red eyes, itchy throat, etc. But histamines are also found in food, which for some can lead to high levels in the body and cause symptoms like headaches, bloating, and eczema. You may hear this referred to as histamine intolerance. Spoiler alert: if you’re in perimenopause you’re more likely to start experiencing some histamine intolerance.
