BLACK LIVES MATTER (EVERYWHERE)

Medea Benjamin has been thinking about the intersection between racism and militarism- could forces for peace be assembled to intervene in conflicts, much like we hope to change the approach of our police forces? The 13th amendment did not abolish slavery, it only limited it to those convicted of a crime. Why does America imprison people at rates far higher than any other developed country, and what does this tell us about the fundamental structure and history of our society?
