The Junior Hockey Podcast - A podcast by TJHP

TJHP EP031 -  This weeks episode of The Junior Hockey Podcast, TDC and Gresko talk with the General Manager of the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League (USHL), Ryan Hardy. We had a great discussion with Ryan about not only his successful career, but just how he got there having only played High School Hockey. He has a great resume ranging from Coaching NCAA College Hockey, working with the USA National Team Development Program (USANTDP) to ultimately becoming a General Manager for a Tier 1 USHL Organization. Other than Ryan's personal career, we talked about the current junior hockey landscape and what he believes would help create a more competitive atmosphere in junior hockey. We asked Ryan a ton of questions about the USHL and the amount of effort that goes into developing these players to ultimately play NCAA D1 Hockey and make it to the NHL level. The USHL is known for its education of players in the classroom so we dove into the topic of schooling for the players and how the process works to ensure they are still achieving good grades. Ryan Hardy offers a ton of great knowledge on the game of hockey and more specifically what it takes to make it to the highest level. His resume speaks for itself and this is a great episode for any current player, parent, or coach that is interested in getting some information from one of the great minds in hockey. We hope you guys enjoy this one, we had a lot of fun talking with Ryan.
