Ask The Dust X: Cleaning Time

Just as we can find some of the most interesting and wonderful thoughts or experiences and objects in the murk and dust of what we have built here on this planet, it’s sometimes necessary to have a clean-up time to actually get some kind of overview of what we are dealing with. Cleaning time is a routine and a routine that is repeated more or less often; but there’s a certain rhythm to it, right? So in this episode we also get some more ‘loopy’ stuff to enhance this cleaning routine atmosphere. I heard a story a long time ago about the artist Emmet Williams: He is out walking with some friends and they’re getting into this zen-kinda mood and discuss eastern philosophy, and the others asks Emmet -"so what object is most important to you, and can you let it go?" He points to the wedding ring from his now dead wife. Then he takes it off and puts it in the middle of the road they are walking on, just to show that he has no earthly attachments. And true, he did just make a little cleaning session there, but he is also littering the world with his his stuff, just like all the rest of us. So much for staying clean (and unattached to earthly matter) - it’s impossible. But we might as well just crack on with the broom and a somewhat empty mind or something.
