Let’s roll with The highly caffeinated Coffee Run! Today I want to talk to you about triggers… specifically, that in order for people to make a decision, there has to be a trigger for change… In 2015 things for my business were going so damn well. I had it ALL. I was sitting on $1M/year. I had clients around the world. I was travelling every couple of months around Australia and 3-4 times a year to the USA. I had awesome clients. My husband and I were back on track after facing serious troubles and almost-divorcing in the years prior to 2015. Things were great… Until they weren’t. My oldest daughter hit a real rough patch and my whole world came crashing down. I stopped travelling as much. I stopped looking after my health. I stopped working out. I went straight into survival mode - and I’m really glad that I did. But… mid 2016 when things had started to settle down a bit, Dom and I travelled to the UK for the wedding of one his best mates. It was a whirlwind trip, filled with all the love and laughter and as much sight seeing as one could fit into 4-5 days on the ground…. But our cases went missing. With all of our wedding kit in there. My make up, clutches, clothes, toiletries… everything other than a pair of undies and my carry-on make up (minimal at best!) was in our bag. Dom was in the wedding party, so his shoes, belt and things he needed for the day… all in the lost luggage. Upon landing, we checked into the DODGIEST hotel .. and when we went out for dinner I was conned our stuff was going to get stolen - the minimal stuff we had. There was blood stains on the sheets. It was awful, so we moved hotels. Hoping our luggage would show up at the new hotel. This was the Thursday night. Then, Friday morning we had to go shopping for both of us. Dom for wedding shoes and a belt. Plus some clothes, because we were going to be in Cornwall till Sunday night when we were due to arrive in London and we didn’t think our luggage would show up on the weekend! It didn’t. I needed a dress, shoes, undies, casual clothes, a bra, make up and hair stuff! And a clutch. And perhaps a fascinator! For me, though, I was hit with an even bigger surprise in the changeroom of Selfridges when I tried on the dress I ended up buying… which was a HUGE Trigger For Change for me…. You MUST know what the trigger for change is for your audience… can YOU be the trigger for change? Enjoy the replay and of course, if you have questions let me know!
