We can become obsessed with the idea of offending someone in some way or of accidentally saying something outrageous. Normally this never happens, but the OCD mind wants certainty and this kick starts the normal process of obsessing and compulsion. The honest truth is that it's quite hard to go through life without upsetting some people some of the time. We all have different opinions about some things and agreeing with everyone about everything is impossible. What we can do is live our life by our values and try our best to stick to that, without demanding the perfection that is driving the OCD. Today I discuss some of the common compulsions that people struggle with in this area and how to let go of them.
