In my experience, wasting time on why this is, is not helpful and it's much better to seek out people who do understand or who are at the very least willing to learn about OCD.  This doesn't mean that people who don't understand OCD are bad, it's just that it might be better to share about your OCD experiences with people who truly understand it, like a therapist, family member who gets it, trusted friends or other people you know who might struggle with similar things.  I hope you find it helpful :) Disclaimer: Robert James Pizey (of Robert James Coaching) is not a medical professional and is also not providing therapy or medical treatment.
