I’m back for another quick fire Q&A! This week we’re talking about three very interesting topics: insulin resistance and lean PCOS, prenatals, and having a period but not ovulating.Lean PCOS is a maaaaajor one. Often women who have lean PCOS are told by doctors that there’s nothing that can be done apart from going on the Pill - and that’s because the usual recommendation is to lose some weight, which is obviously not appropriate for those women that are already lean. And yes, you can still have lean PCOS and insulin resistance. Insulin resistance isn’t always outwardly obvious. We’re also going to talk about whether you can have periods and not be ovulating. We aren’t taught a lot about menstruation apart from periods, so I’ll clarify a few things there and why our periods are such a fantastic window into your health. And the final question: “how important are prenatal vitamins?” - the short answer is VERY IMPORTANT. I’ll go into why in the podcast but we all know that growing a baby is really hard work for our body, so I’ll give you the lowdown on prenatals and what to look out forDon’t forget to head over to the PCOS Nutritionist Instagram page to submit a question for the next mini PCOS podcast! This episode is for you if:You have lean PCOS or are leanYou feel hungry very frequently and soon after eatingYou’re not sure if you’re ovulating but your still having a bleedYou’re planning to get pregnant soon or in the futureSome things we cover in this episode:Insulin resistance signs for lean PCOSCan you have insulin resistance without knowing it?Why a full cycle isn’t just your periodIntermenstrual bleedingWhy prenatals are so importantLinks to our programs:The PCOS ProtocolEggducated
