Morgan Achterhoff - His Faithfulness to Our Lives, Stories & Hearts

The Places Between - A podcast by The Places Between

When you imagine the life you’ll go onto live at 20 years old, everything on paper seems just peachy and if we were honest feels like we’re looking at the future through rose colored glasses, right? Fast forward for some into their 20s and life seems to be taking different turns than they “planned” or hoped for and then by the time you get to your 30s or 40s, plans have completely gone awry and NOT as planned, for most. I’ll bet any one of you listening can think back to an unrealistic hope you had for your life at an early age that could be quite comical now looking back. If we were honest, has been an ever winding dance with hope deferred and longing fulfilled. While I have some peers who got to experience the joy of marriage at an earlier point of their adulthood these are also friends who deeply struggle to find their dream job and are still grinding to get to it. And others I know have beautiful careers and fulfilling lives but wrestle to understand their identity in singleness, something for many I know wouldn’t have chosen. I know people who’ve spent their lives chasing something but realized into their 30s it wasn’t everything they wanted so I’ve watched as they’ve navigated this too. . . The COMMON thread through it all though is navigating the places between and learning how to thrive, not just survive or suffer through the points we didn’t expect would take so long! AND going a step deeper, I’d say it has to be JESUS. Getting to see girl friends and guy friends place their entire hope and lives into Jesus and how he directs their steps is truly beautiful - but it's not easy and it's definitely not overnight. That’s why it's a journey, but it's one filled with amazing surprises and sweet moments of realizing the Father’s kindness in how he writes and draws close to us in our journeys. Today I'm beyond thrilled to introduce a sweet friend of mine to you who I’ve gotten to see firsthand how her walk with the Lord has been her saving grace and her constant foundation in every twist and turn she’s been through. A bit about her background which you will find out more soon, Morgan is a physician assistant with close to adecade of surgical trauma experience who recently has pivoted her career intopart-time sports & regenerative medicine work while pursuing basketball coaching and training as a fun side-hobby. She loves all things sports, outdoor activities, and hanging out with family and friends. She is SUCH a delight to me too and I couldn’t be more excited to share our convo with you today. We even talk about navigating the places of singleness and have quite the conversation for you! She’s a person who’s faith I deeply admire and the journey she’s been on the last few years I believe will add encouragement and hope into your journey today too.
