Sarah and Johnny's VBAC to Sophora

The Positive Births NZ podcast - A podcast by Helen Bartrom

Categories:

Sarah and Johnny share with us their positive birth journey to meet second baby, Sephora as a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). We firstly understand how her first birth journey ended up  as quite a classic cascade of interventions with induction, epidural and eventual c-section. Sarah shares about the work she did in her second pregnancy to feel strong and empowered and ready for a potential Home birth / VBAC including a change of midwife at 30 weeks to find someone more aligned to her and Johnny’s plans. Sarah had been binge listening to all the episodes on this podcast and at 41 weeks and 6 days wondering if baby was ever going to come Sarah reached out to me to purchase the 'Come on out Baby' track and the Positive Births Short and Sweet course. She went into labour the next night. In our chat we talk about big babies and the comments Sarah received in her first pregnancy about getting baby out and just ponder whether those comments can affect the way that we feel and subsequently birth, then Sarah and Johnny talk us through the smooth and fast arrival of beautiful, big and healthy baby Sophora. Johnny shares his great advice for any dads listening about being a support person and Sarah shares what she is most proud of, This is a great episode to listen to if you too are prepping for a VBAC.
