90 | Hearing God in a New Season Doing a New Thing! Deliverance from Anxiety and Depression 2Kings 4

I’m checking out the little story in 2 Kings about Elisha helping a widow out with a super cool miracle. This whole story is told to us in 7 verses, but each sentence is so jammed packed! Each verse could easily have a sermon of it’s own! In verse 1, the widow was focusing on her inabilities & what she didn't have. She came to the prophet and declared all of her lack. And he, in turn says, “Yeah, but what do you have?” And so we want to be mindful of our thoughts. When we focus on our lack or even comparison of what someone else has, we allow negativity to consume us. While that is a huge point to the story, I’m also noticing that she's in a new season. Sometimes, we look back in our past and we expect God to provide for us the way He did before. And God’s like, “nope, this is a new season. I'm going to do a new thing for you.” Are you feeling that you are in a new season now? It feels so uncomfortable because what we've experienced in the past worked and we want to put those formulas back in place. This is just one of the 5 major keys I discuss from 2 Kings chapter 4.
