In an early edition of The Rest Is PR this week, Jacki and Lyle are joined by the wonderful Caroline Wheeler - Political Editor of The Sunday Times.Caroline has previously worked as Political Editor for the Sunday Express, before becoming Deputy Political Editor of The Sunday Times in 2017, and later assuming the role of Political Editor in 2021. Among the many stories she has broken include the increased restrictions set out by Boris Johnson in response to the pandemic in December 2020, the Operation Yellowhammer Brexit contingency plan, and the recent story surrounding Liz Truss’ conversations with King Charles III over COP27. In a fascinating episode, Caroline discusses the extraordinary events of the last few days, as the United Kingdom saw a second Prime Minister resign in the space of just over 3 months. Liz Truss became the shortest-serving Prime Minister in British history when she resigned last Friday, and this week she is succeeded by the man she defeated in the last leadership race no more than 50 days ago - Rishi Sunak - Britain's third Prime Minister of 2022.
