Josh Bishop is an award-winning director specializing in feature documentaries, branded content and music videos.  Josh's first documentary feature, MADE IN JAPAN (currently streaming on Amazon Prime) premiered at SXSW 2015 in Austin, Texas. The film boasts Morgan Spurlock as executive producer and Elijah Wood as both executive producer and narrator. His second documentary feature, THE DWARVENAUT, premiered at SXSW 2016 and is currently available on most VOD platforms after almost 3 years on Netflix.

After 17 years in New York City, Josh relocated to Nashville with his family, where he continues to create documentary content and direct music videos. In 2019, he directed a pilot for the world’s first fantasy-based documentary travel series DESTINATION FANTASTIC. Most recently, Josh directed YEARS, a music video for country music legend John Anderson, currently signed to Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound recording label.

-The amount of media being produced right now is crazy

-Being able to record on an iphone and it being legit....

-Is there an expectation for docs....

-Directing the subjects....

-Making people feel comfortable....

-Taking someone who is already beautiful and bringing their beauty to the world....

-Soooo many docs out there now....

-Docuseries are nice because they allow the filmmakers to make money....

-The staircase as a docuseries....

-Social media on hold for Josh....

-Always on the phone....

-What it takes to make a documentary....

-Fantasy based travel documentary in the works....
