E39 - Matt Trussell and James Bull. Challenging stigmas on the frontline of mental health awareness.

We’ve reached the penultimate episode of season FIVE and it’s been amazing so far. We’ve had guests from all around the world ranging from entrepreneurs to premier league footballers. Today we have got two guests joining us. Matt Trussell is the MD at Go Big Digital, a marketing agency, but in a previous career he served in the Armed Forces in Afghanistan. Following his return from front line duty he became aware of his deteriorating mental health and has been on a journey of discovery since then. Our second guest is James Bull, A station commander in the Fire and Rescue Service. Following some traumatic experiences early into his career, James also suffered from mental health challenges and has used sport and physical challenges to help him in the years that followed. Today both Matt and James take us through their reflections on the causes of their challenges, the different ways they have approached dealing with them and provide some hugely powerful insights that challenge some of the stigmas surrounding mental health.
