157. Greg Rucka on comic book audiences & movies

The Sifu Mimi Chan Show - A podcast by Mimi Chan - Tuesdays

Categories:

My week would be incomplete without my weekly chat with Greg Rucka.  I’ve been having these conversations with Greg since April 1st during the covid19 pandemic. We’ve discussed everything from current events to comic book characters. (Greg knows a thing or two about both)  Today we dive into listener questions!  Thanks to our listeners who submitted questions – please keep them coming. Greg and I talk about writing for mature audiences verses younger audiences, and how this has shaped the industry.  We also discuss his true ending to Wonder Woman, and what might be coming in the new film Wonder Woman 1984.  I also had fun picking his brain about his thoughts on superhero films, being that he is now moving into screenplays, with his first movie out this summer, The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron and an all star cast. I’m loving these conversations and hope you are too.  If you are, please rate my podcast on our platform of choice!  If you would like to support with a donation, you can become a patron of the show by visiting website or Patreon.com and donate as little as $1 per month. Thanks for the support!  I appreciate it. HUGE SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU TO MY MOST RECENT PATRON: Pete of Paper Asylum! Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He has written for film, television, and video games, and he is currently developing his Image series LAZARUS, co-created by Michael Lark, with Legendary Pictures and Matt Tolmach Productions. His career has included critically acclaimed and Eisner-winning work in both the creator-owned and work-for-hire arenas.  Rucka lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, author Jennifer Van Meter, and their two children, Elliot and Dashie. It is such an honor to talk to guests like Gene. IF you enjoyed this conversation, my favor as usual is to please continue to share this podcast with others. It would mean so much if you also rate it and leave me feedback.
