Shelly Bond on her life and love of comics

The Sifu Mimi Chan Show - A podcast by Mimi Chan - Tuesdays

Categories:

It is a good day when I get to sit down and talk comics with someone as knowledgeable as Shelly Bond. Shelly is an award-winning DC/Vertigo and Black Crown editor. She began her career in comics in 1988 and hasn’t stopped since. It was so much fun to chat with her today about her experiences in the industry. I always learn so much from my guests, and today was no exception. Shelly discusses the intricacies of being an editor, as well as the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated industry. It was incredible to hear stories about comic industry greats such as Neil Gaiman, Bill Willingham, Gerard Way, Matt Wagner and her husband Philip Bond. Please check out Shelly’s latest Kickstarter campaign: HEY, AMATEUR! What’s it about? Top-notch writers and artists share hidden talents from the practical to the peculiar in a collection of 1-page comics. Finally, please help support this podcast by SHARING and RATING it.  If you would like to support with a donation, you can become a patron of the show by visiting my website or Patreon.com.   For comments or suggestions reach out on social media @sifumimichan.
