Strong Within Weekly Affirmation Podcast Episode 604 Thank You “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.” ~Meister Eckhart I have spent a good portion of my life apologizing. And I think it’s good to be humbled and apologize when we feel we have been wrong or wronged someone…but I spent most of my life apologizing for the wrong things. I apologized for not being enough or for being too much. I apologized if I thought someone didn’t like me, I apologized if I was truthful in letting someone know something hard, I apologized for never being the person I thought others wanted me to be, but most of my apologies were silent in my mind as I kept punishing myself for never being whatever enough of what I thought I should be.   I lived this front of trying to please everyone else, trying to make everyone like and accept me, trying to be cordial and not stir up any issues even if they needed to be said…because it was better not to hurt someone than to tell them the truth that others may not necessarily say. And by doing it made me weak, because it was never about putting the true most authentic me in to the world…it was about covering up who I was. The mask that I put on to protect myself originally became the thing that was hurting me the most, as it created shame within myself thinking I wasn’t or could never be good enough for others…and for myself...
