Let’s get practical: Steps to improve trust in AI
The techUK Podcast - A podcast by techUK

In this episode of the techUK podcast, we will explore the tech industry’s approach to increasing AI trustworthiness. AI technologies have the potential to drive economic growth, help improve many of the services we interact with daily and even contribute to solving some of the most complex social and environmental challenges facing the modern world. Yet, a recent global poll found that people around the world are highly sceptical of AI use - in Great Britain and the US only 35% said they trust a company using AI as much as they trust a company which does not, with similar figures in countries such as France, Canada, Japan and the Netherlands. The conversation about how to increase trust in AI often focuses on ‘educating’ the public, but in this podcast we will instead focus on the practical steps companies are taking to make sure their AI is worthy of the public’s trust. We will look to discover what the sources of mistrust are and, at least as importantly, what experts think the prospects are of overcoming them in the near future. Speakers: Yoav Schlesinger, Principal of Ethical AI Practice, Salesforce Lofred Madzou, Director of Strategy and Business Development, Truera Craig Rhodes, EMEA Industry Lead AI for Healthcare and Life Science, NVIDIA Chris Anagnostopoulos, Senior Principal Data Scientist, QuantumBlack McKinsey
