Dr. Vanessa Torres van Grinsven, a research methodologist with an anthropology and philosophy background, is here for a deep dive into measurement error and personality’s influence on test performance. About Dr. Vanessa Torres van Grinsven Vanessa currently works at the section for research methods of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Human Sciences, at the University of Cologne. She runs the Consultancy Centre for Empirical Research of the Faculty of Human Sciences and teaches research methods from a qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods perspective. From April 1st she will start working as an assistant professor in Methodology at the Faculty of Psychology of the Open University of the Netherlands, Department of Theory, Methods, and Statistics. She studied Social and Cultural Anthropology and Philosophy at the University of Barcelona in Spain and later on obtained her Ph.D. at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, on a research methodological topic, after which she specialized in research methods for the social and behavioral sciences, including her interest in measurement issues and personality diversity.
