The Toby Gribben Show Highlights - A podcast by Shout Radio
It's just 28 days until the Queen’s PlatinumJubilee celebration weekend begins and it was announced by the government that pubs, bars and nightclubs in England and Wales can stay open until 1 am over the extended bank holiday weekend between 2 and 4 June – with calls for the extra bank holiday to be made an annual ‘Thank Holiday’!Also, organisers announced details of events happening in London – including a Trooping the Colour and a flypast, a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, and a Platinum Party at the Palace, with Ed Sheeran topping the star-studded line-up!So, it’s time to start planning and as we all come together to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70yrs on the throne and new research shows people aged 18-24 (78%) are most likely to host an event whereas people aged 35 and above would prefer to leave the hosting to another and attend a themed event instead. (And for a Royal occasion, the absolute celebratory must-haves include Union Jack flags (49%), bunting (42%), scones with jam and cream (39%) and, of course, a glass of fizz (38%).)Roisin O’Neil, Head of Community UK at Nextdoor, believes events like this are a great opportunity to celebrate with your neighbours and bring the local community together.
