A former law firm colleague of Alex Murdaugh's reviewed a text message that the disgraced South Carolina attorney had written to her and another coworker in September 2021 while he was in rehabilitation. The message was addressed to both of them. When Annette Griswold read the text message that the disbarred attorney had written to her while he was in rehabilitation, she commented, "The better I get, the more guilt I have," "The worst part is knowing I did the most damage to those I love the most."
