67 year old Jean Milne lived in a large mansion called Elmsgrove in Broughty Ferry, in the suburbs of Dundee, Scotland. Miss Milne was wealthy and loved to dine out at expensive restaurants. She also had quite an eccentric lifestyle living in what some people had labelled her 'Bleak House.' At the start of November 1912, the postman alerted police to the fact that her letterbox was full and he was concerned about Miss Milne. The police entered the home and found her battered and bruised at the foot of her stairs. Jean Milne had been murdered. A huge investigation began that took police around the country and around the world. Important information provided by: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/https://broughtyferrycommunitycouncil.org/history/The%20Mansion%20House%20Murder%20Mystery.pdfhttps://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/murder_files_of_jean_milnehttp://oldglasgowmurders.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-murder-of-jean-milne-broughty-ferry.htmlhttps://www.historyscotland.com/history/an-edwardian-murder-in-broughty-ferry-100-years-on/https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/11920306.the-downfall-of-a-man-called-trench/Further Reading: https://www.waterstones.com/book/the-secret-life-and-curious-death-of-miss-jean-milne/andrew-nicoll/9781845029821Music by: www.dl-sounds.com (http://www.dl-sounds.com/)Follow us on social media:Twitter- @theunseenpodFacebook- The Unseen Podcast
