At around 1:50am in the early morning hours of the 6th November 1930, two men were walking back from a Guy Fawkes dance in the centre of Northampton. They both noticed a fire in the distance. Both men dismissed it as it had been Bonfire night and a fire was not unusual to see. The men then noticed a man coming towards them dressed in professional clothes and carrying an attaché case. The men thought it was odd to see a man dressed for work at that hour but they conversed for a minute and the men parted ways. As they approached the fire they realised that it was not just any fire but it was actually a car engulfed in flames. The investigation that ensued was bizarre and led to a very baffling outcome.Important information provided by:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-41886193http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-30207217https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/how-cold-blooded-womanising-killer-1049530https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/01/140114091840.htmhttps://www2.le.ac.uk/offices/press/press-releases/2014/january/murder-mystery-remains-dna-rules-out-briggs-as-blazing-car-victimhttps://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/75730952https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/61589264http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-17899027https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/724019/Northamptonshire-Every-tombstone-tells-a-story.htmlFurther reading:The Butchers by Brian Lane (1991)Murder in the 1930's by Colin Wilson (1992)Find us on Social Media:Twitter- @theunseenpodFacebook- The Unseen PodcastInstagram - TheUnseenPodWebsite www.TheUnseenPodcast.com
