In 1908 the murder of 83 year old Marion Gilchrist shocked the city of Glasgow. Marion was a wealthy but reclusive woman who kept herself to herself. When she was found murdered in her own home the police were determined to find the perpetrator. A man named Oscar Slater appeared as a potential lead and after investigating, he was put on trial and found guilty. Years passed however and influential people began to get involved in the case including Sherlock Holmes creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. They believed that Oscar Slater may not be the person they were looking for after all. Important information provided by: http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/history/the_curious_case_of_oscar_slater.shtmlhttps://www.heraldscotland.com/news/16355683.new-novel-sheds-further-doubt-on-key-murder-witness/http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks12/1202651h.htmlhttp://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks12/1202631h.htmlImportant books on the subject: The trial of Oscar Slater by William Roughead The Case of Oscar Slater by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Quotes used from this text) Music by: www.dl-sounds.comFollow us on social media:Twitter- @theunseenpodFacebook- The Unseen PodcastInstagram - TheUnseenPod
