What Good Looks Like with Bonnie Nordling - Season 2 Episode 2

The Voiceover Hour Podcast - A podcast by The VoiceOver Network

Categories:

In this episode with Bonnie Nordling we talk about how recent changes in technology, particularly the rise of AI, have affected the voiceover industry. We discuss how casting has changed in recent years and the importance of the authentic voice. Bonnie touches on the challenges of being a woman in what can often still be a male-dominated industry (particularly as she started out in radio). Bonnie’s confidence comes from what she knows and she is an advocate of education and training within the voiceover industry and she gives us some great advice on what activities to undertake to achieve voiceover success. Bonnie really does lie over the ocean, much to her Mother’s dismay! Born and raised in London, but currently residing in Los Angeles, Bonnie graduated from USC with a BA in Film/TV Production and further went on to complete her Masters in Business from Pepperdine University. Her eight years of working at Benztown Branding, an international audio production company, where she handles finances as well as daily interactions with clients and voiceover talent, paved her way into Excellent Talent. Since taking over the Agency in October 2020, from founders Jon and Pete, Bonnie has thoroughly enjoyed working with her two “Super Agents”, Natalie and Yashi. And while Bonnie is not an agent herself, she does oversee the daily operations of the Company and likes to think of the three of them as Super Ladies, taking on the world of voiceover, one Excellent day at a time. Are you ready to take your voiceover career to the next level? The Voiceover Network is an organisation for voiceover professionals providing voiceover training, webinars, The Buzz magazine, support, networking events and an amazing VO community. Being the managing director of a talent agency, Bonnie discusses the role of the agent today and the importance of networking to further your voiceover career.
