140. In Qigong: To bend or not to bend the metal spoon? (☱/☳)
The Way through Baguazhang - 八卦掌道 - A podcast by Peter Hainzl
When it comes to the art of qigong, this planet becomes a very interesting world to live in. And I have found myself on a wondering journey that involves me discovering all the different versions of qigong out there. And the more I look, the more I find. And in this adventure, I have come to appreciate with much growing happiness that qigong is not just an exclusive Chinese thing. It has existed throughout the world since the Dreamtime in different cultures, customs and tongues with different names. And depending on the mood of the society it exists in, sometimes it is practiced openly and at other times has remained hidden. But usually it has remained just too far out there yonder for ordinary folk to grasp. In my community qigong classes, my role is to assist people wanting to experience qigong, how to do it for themselves. And to discover what their element is, so that they can use their growing qigong abilities to the fullest. In this class, I have an Aussie guy who is on track to heating his own cup of tea. With his ‘thing’ being that he feels heat in his hands and recently he’s become adapt at warming a metal spoon without touching. At the same time Another person, his wife, feels intense coolness (in the palms of her hands); She’s an artist and together they’re like harmonious opposite battery charges. And then there is my most advanced student: A Filipina Chinese lady who is the star of the community centre. I hadn’t been aware of just how good she is at doing qigong until when we tried the telekinetic spoon bending test. Not the magic trick that involves heating a spoon between two fingers, but the real one that involves no touching, that apparently only a handful of people around the world are able to do. Now to be clear: No spoons got magically bent (or twisted) in our test. But.... But it became a test to find out which version of reality one lives in. With both versions being true: Is the spoon a solid metal object as we experience it, and can prove through classical physics or is the spoon 99.99...% empty space as stated by nuclear physics? So which one is it? Mostly solid or mostly empty space? The answer lies on what you decide upon, which will in turn also define your reality. In the test we conducted, when we placed the spoon in the gap between her hands without touching, her qi stopped flowing. The spoon acted as a circuit breaker blocking the energy flow from one hand to the other even though we were all focused on seeing the spoon magically bend. But here’s the interesting bit, when I got her to ignore the spoon as not existing like empty space, her qi flowed through the spoon with increased vibrational strength. It was so strong that I could feel her qi from three feet away. Now was the spoon there? Yes it was. But the future implications of what just happened will be quite profound for her.
