151. Qigong & the Blue Kyanite Pendant (☲/☰)

The Way through Baguazhang - 八卦掌道 - A podcast by Peter Hainzl

“So does it need to be jade?” Steve asked. “It depends. Yes and No.” I answered. “I’m not really sure.” It is a truism in martial arts, that the higher we go, the less we know. At some point along the journey, the well paved road disappears from view and it takes a while for us to realise just how far we’ve ventured into the woods. Yes, we start off with learning martial arts for self defence. Then we move on to wanting to win fights like a real fighter, either for pleasure or for profit or both. From here at some point we may decide to teach as well. Some martial arts go further and have a level dedicated to the healing arts or may even delve into the spiritual and philosophical side of things. It is always up to the practitioner to decide how far they want to go. Because of my background and the general direction of the path I have chosen through Baguazhang, I decided a long time ago to go all in and experience the truth behind reality itself, even though reality is on the one hand an illusion and on the other hand the point where two opposing polarities meet. By now I had passed on two pendants and it is Saturday. Even though I wore the Green Bagua Pendant for Qigong class, I couldn’t help but feel something missing around the area of my heart. While at the same time I could sense when and how the pendant was being used. While I am glad to have passed it on, you wouldn’t have known it by the way I kept talking about it. My wife kept telling me that I was having withdrawal symptoms and needed to find a replacement quick. Because of Saturday activities around my kids and issues with timing, I settled on a couple of crystal shops. The first shop was too wicca and every pendant looked like women’s jewelry, not to mention how much crystals have gone up in price over the last couple of years. The second crystal shop was found in Parramatta Westfield. It had some interesting rocks and eventually I settled on a small piece of blue kyanite. The lady who owned the shop tried to sell me the virtues of kyanite being good for clearing chakra pathways, but I really just liked the colour and shape of it. When I held it in my hands for the first time, I felt nothing. The only time I felt something was when she tied it around my neck and I felt her energy course through the back of my neck down to my lower back. A spot that from time to time requires a bit of T.L.C. And so from Saturday afternoon. On Sunday through to Tuesday I wore the Blue Kyanite Pendant and recording the results. Of which I am happy to share as follows: One, any qi felt from the crystal was due from having been in that lady’s shop and absorbing a bit her qi. Two, whenever I focused on the subject of qigong, the kyanite would start to warm up. Three, even though I had the crystal hidden from view, a lot of women around me, kept staring at the point of where it was located on my body. And lastly, somehow the crystal is able the amplify and reflect back my own qi so that I can feel what others feel when they experience my qi. And I have to admit, even I can be a little too much for myself at times. Something in the experience of it being slightly off, is giving me the strong impression that what kind of material worn matters a lot. And while it is a beautiful pendant, I don’t think I will wear it often. For me it will have to be jade - it matters. There is a reason why in Chinese martial arts it is meant to be jade. And the only way to know is for me to get another one... Liked what you heard & want to connect with me? Join me at… linkedin.com/in/peterhainzl/
