164. A Baguazhang master's colour spectrum
The Way through Baguazhang - 八卦掌道 - A podcast by Peter Hainzl
Life is neither black nor white. It isn't even shades of grey. Although, you may not believe this but grey is the highest vibrational frequency we humans can see in terms of colour. At least some of us can. It's a shade of pastel grey that resides just above violet. So now you must be wondering, if grey is above violet, what's below red? The answer is brown. In fact the full colour spectrum I can see from low to high in terms of true colours are: Black; Brown; Red; Orange; Yellow; White; Green; Blue; Indigo; Violet and Grey. Argue with it if you want, but my colour palette is richer than the standard colour theory model out there. And what it means is that in my reality, I am able to see a lot more of what's going on around me than an ordinary person. And this is because, not that I'm somehow better, but that most people have put limitations on themselves of what is possible. We live by rules and theories created by people who claim to be experts but in truth don't know what they are talking about. And martial arts is the same. And by way of the pot calling the kettle black, you could throw me in the same basket. Except... Except that when somebody points the finger at me and claims that I don't know what I'm talking about, or I don't know what it's like, I start manifesting in my life the conditions required to experience the accusations labelled against me. I subconsciously start living a new reality. And then I know the truth. More importantly I know the truth from the lie. That truth quantum leaps me from a lower vibrational state to a higher vibrational state. "Staying grounded" or "Keeping it real" are just lies most martial artists tell themselves to cover up their own self-imposed limitations. And I can say it because I did the staying grounded and keeping it real stuff. And it was a shit life of hardship and unreasonable pain. In fact my Baguazhang development went backwards. On top of that, God comes calling and starts throwing bricks through the window: Stop trying to be a fish when you are a bird. Jump! Make the Quantum leap when it's time to. Let go of your earthly tether. Allow your qi to flow through your palms as you do your Baguazhang. Stop hiding behind your master, waiting on every proclamation. Stop trying to fit in and be ordinary when you got real game. As a Baguazhang master, your job isn't to get your head smashed in the ring. Your job is to walk the path and create a new version of reality that others can follow. Maybe it does mean a new way of fighting. Or it could be about incorporating martial arts into your business somehow that has nothing to do with running a dojo. Who knows? PS. Black and white are colours and not shades. When referring to shades, the correct terms are light and dark. The black of a black hole isn't black - it means absence of all light, so that it cannot be seen. A person can see the colour black. And it's not a hole either. If it had a shape, a black hole would look a ball the way stars, planets and moons do. And at the other extreme end of the shade spectrum, what is known as white, isn't white. It has no colour but to look directly at it would make you go blind.
