What do an Irish Traveller, a Native American and a South African woman have in common? More than you might expect. In this episode we speak to three women - Sindy Joyce, Nonhle Mbuthuma and Kimberly Smith - about the activism that consumes their lives and how Front Line Defenders helps them. Sindy is a Minceir woman, or an Irish Traveller as is more commonly used. She explains the importance of bringing back that name for her community and how her work is about changing the future for Minceir children. Kimberly Smith is a native American member of the Dinétah tribe who tells her people's history through art and Nonhle Mbuthuma is a South African woman who fights for land and environmental rights in South Africa's Eastern Cape, where speaking out has seen her name placed on a hit-list by those who wish to silence her.
