We are lucky to be joined today by guests Dr. Milena Mateuzi Carmo and Dr. Charles Klein to discuss the roles of community and student activism in first generation students’ experiences in São Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Mateuzi Carmo holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Universidade de São Paulo and Dr. Klein is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Anthropology Department at Portland State University in the United States. We are also joined by Thais Tiriba, a doctoral student in social anthropology at the University of São Paulo, who helped us in facilitating a translation from Portuguese to English.  ⁠ Charles H.
