In TCM, the term 发物 or 'stimulating' foods refers to certain types of foods that can trigger or worsen illness. Based on your body type and condition, your physician might ask you to avoid or minimize the consumption of such foods during your treatment. In this episode, we talk about what some of these foods are, why they can trigger or worsen illness and whether or not you should really be avoiding them. 1. Heat generating foods: onion, garlic, chives, ginger, pepper, lamb, beef 2. Wind generating foods: shellfish, prawn, crab, goose, eggs 3.
