139. Getting Honest with Yourself - Are you DECIDING or HOPING for a Thinner Body?

Thin Within Podcast With Marna Thall | Mental Secrets For Weight Loss Mastery - A podcast by Marna

It's time to get honest with yourself - are you deciding or hoping for a thinner body? There is a significant difference between deciding and hoping. Here are some big takeaways from today's episode - 1.  The reason we hope instead of deciding is to avoid being responsible for the outcome and dodging unwanted emotions. Taking action to achieve what you want can cause you to feel vulnerable, which is why there might be times where you avoid doing the work to create it. 2.  It’s easier to rely on luck, motivation, and inspiration, than play an active role in making your weight loss goals a reality.   3. Instead, if you’re like I was, I was just hoping for a miracle to happen. And for me that miracle was the naturally thin – because I knew that for me – they didn’t diet, they didn’t deprive and they didn’t have this crazy relationship with food.  Hope gave me the opportunity to strive for a solution, a possible outcome, and a chance at trying something else. I didn’t know if interviewing naturally thin would help me slim down. I had no idea. But I hoped it would. 4. Remember - Hoping is passive. Deciding is active. 5. Ask yourself these questions -  Where are you in your weight loss journey? What are you hoping for?Have you made the DECISION to lose weight? Are you actively being and stepping into this decision? The ability to DECIDE to lose weight is powerful. It requires you to overcome fears and excuses, old beliefs, and frustrating patterns. It means you’re stepping up and saying I matter, my life matters, my health matters.
