Well, 2020 is almost over, and I feel comfortable saying that all of us, except for about 600+ billionaires can't wait to bring in the new year. 2020 will be forever known as the year of tragedy. COVID-19 ripping through the world killing over a million world wide, and over 330,000 in this country alone. Infecting 1 in 1,000 Americans t could there be hope on the horizon with breakthroughs in vaccines? While we were locked down to attempt tot flatten the curve of the pandemic we saw the country stand up to what many feel is the scourge of state violence at the hands of law enforcement. With these urban uprisings a new conversation of defunding police arose. Were these protests and uprisings the birth of a real movement to change the way we look at policing or has it been co-opted by a class of foundation careerists?   The Trump era for many is over with the election of Joe Biden, but will the architect of the 1994 Crime Bill be the answer to state sanctioned police violence with his (and his party's) austerity record?
