For example if it will take you a long time to build your own website, you can pay someone else to do it. Your time is then free for other things and your collaboration brings in someone with skills you don't have.  Sometimes you need to be confident in yourself and your abilities to be part of a good collaboration. In a collaboration it's important to get input for everyone involved.
