What is style? How do you find it? And how do you refine it? That's the topic of conversation on Thriving Women Artists this week. Her style comes from what she loves. If you're starting out make a collection of things that inspire you. Work out what makes you feel something and analyse why you like it. It can be a piece of music, a smell, a part of nature. Get the feeling of it and try and put that into your work. For every project you take on you need to think about the purpose of the art and who the audience is. The style of the piece should be right for both of those. Your style is not fixed, you keep growing as a person and your style will grow with you. Never stop exploring and trying something new. A sketch book is for yourself. Don't be afraid to make ugly art, it's all part of the learning process.
