The Oath Covenant of Genesis 12 Now vuvh had said to Avram, Get out of your country, and from your mishpacha, and from your abba’s bayit, to a land that I will show you:2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a bracha: 3 And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all mishpachot of the earth be blessed – mixed. Unconditional – YHWH swears by no one higher than Himself – Psalms 110.5 (Avraham requests a signature guarantee > Genesis 15) Hebrews 6:13 For when Yah made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, :14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. (Specifically Genesis 12:1-3 the Genesis 12 ‘oath’ is a covenant. Yahweh oathed (agreed / covenanted) to Himself ‘to’ bless Abraham AND his descendants; BEFORE Yahweh ever entered into covenant ‘with’ Abraham AND his descendants at Gen.15. The Promise Covenant with death penalty of Genesis 15 A conditional covenant that can be broken invoking the death penalty (very messianic). Avraham said, Master vuvh, how shall I know that I shall inherit it? 9 And He said to him, Take a heifer three years old, and a female goat three years old, and a ram three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. 10 And he took for Him all these, and divided them in the midst…. The writer of Hebrews identifies Genesis 12 as the unconditional covenant Hebrews.6:13 – Yahweh swears to Himself by Himself for there was “no greater” – AND – (what most miss) there was no ‘death position’ i.e. no ‘death penalty’ (going between slaughtered halved animals) at Gen.12.The only covenant that can not be broken is one that ‘we’ (as fallible human beings) are not party to (Hebrews 8:8 ‘for finding fault with them …’). Genesis 15:10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: *’but the birds divided he not’*. :11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. :12 And when the sun was going down, a deep ‘sleep’ <tardemah> H8639 fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. Abraham was in a trance not asleep you must have two conscious parties to a covenantThe Hebrew <tardemah> can mean lethargy or to put into a trance like state. In this case <tardemah> cannot mean ‘sleep’, for Genesis 15:13 shows Yahuwah speaking to Abram. ‘Yah’ is not the ‘author of confusion’ (1 Corintians 14:33); there is no point to speak and demonstrate where there is no visual or audible conscious perception. John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with ‘their fathers’ in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant ‘they brake’, although I was an ‘husband unto them’, saith YHWH: (Note: their, they, them; are all 12 Tribes not just Jews verse:31) Blood Ratified Covenant The only blood ratified covenant that these ‘fathers’ were physically party to was the ‘Book of the Covenant’ (Exodus 19:5-24:8). The ‘Book of the Covenant’ was the “seal” “inheritance” ‘fulfillment to the promise given. (Galatians 3:17-18) to the Genesis 15 ‘promise’. They (the ‘fathers’ ) did ‘brake’ the “seal” “inheritance” covenant (‘promise realized’) in less than 40 days (Exodus 32). Which may explain why these same ‘fathers’ never again circumcised their children (the much hailed covenant ‘entrance’ sign) for the next 40 years without Yahweh’s mention or wrath (Jos. 5:5); raising a whole new set of speculations, questions and issues (Hebrews 7:11-13). Galatians 3:17 frames the situation in that the ‘Book of the Covenant’ “inheritance” (v:18) was “430 years” (over 4 centuries) removed from the Genesis 15 ‘promise’. You cannot break a 430 year removed ‘seal’ without breaking the ‘promise’ itself as well. The Sinai B
