Alex Haighton: The traumatic consequences of a type 2 diabetes misdiagnosis

Misdiagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2019 at the age of 50, Alex Haighton finally began treatment for type 1 diabetes seven months later - but not before she became so ill she could no longer work. By the time Alex was taken to A&E, her organs were shutting down.
