UBS On-Air: Paul Donovan Daily Audio 'United?'

UBS On-Air: Market Moves - A podcast by Client Strategy Office

The US is marking independence, at a time when political partisanship has become more extreme. This matters economically. Partisanship already distorts sentiment-based data, making the results questionable. Partisanship potentially limits internal labor mobility—at a time when being able to have the right person, in the right job, at the right time is increasingly important. Partisanship also encourages prejudice, which is extremely economically damaging. Hopefully, today will be an opportunity to reflect on what unites the United States although that may be optimistic.
