Our podcast with Nikola Balvin, Knowledge Management Specialist at UNICEF Innocenti, unpacks the recently launched Evidence Gap Map on adolescent well-being to look at what it is and how it's useful for researchers, policy makers, and programme managers around the world. The UNICEF Innocenti Evidence Gap Map report, titled “Bridging the gap to understand effective interventions for adolescent well-being: An evidence gap map on protection, participation, and financial and material well-being in low- and middle-income countries” collates the evidence base for adolescent interventions, broadly across the domains of protection, participation, and livelihoods for adolescents in low- and middle-income countries. The study aims to describe where evidence for programming and policy exists, where it is scarce, and where there are evidence gaps to help determine where more primary research or further synthesis is needed. Nikola Balvin has been the lead architect of this project, and in this podcast, we’ll learn from her how the research project was developed and how it contributes to the broader goals of UNICEF and programmes for adolescents.
