Welcome to the newest talk about the sustainability in architecture and design. My guest today is Jakob Strømann-Andersen - Director, Innovation and Sustainability, as well as (first non architect) Partner at Henning Larsen Architects. I feel that word 'sustainable' has been used, so much in the architecture and planning industry recently that its meaning became blurred. This is why in our conversation we try to capture the essence behind this word as well as try to answer the question of what does sustainability mean nowadays. Some of the themes that we talked about: How to give meaning to sustainable design in our cities? What is sustainability in design? What sustainability is NOT? What does it mean to be sustainable in 2021? We also talked about Jakob's article about the Paradigm Shifts that will Shape the Future of Cities and I asked If the most sustainable city is the one that doesn’t get built, how should we satisfy our urban development.
