David Merron is a wildlife and nature photographer from Vancouver, Canada who specialises in Polar regions. David’s striking portfolio features a blend of expansive landscape shots and intimate wildlife images. David spends up to 6 months a year at the poles after a chance meeting while shooting a wedding led to him becoming photography guide with Quark Expeditions. Our conversation covers Davids approach to photographing different penguin species, how he handles encounters with polar bears,  the benefit of putting in time to learn animal behaviour, why he always packs a 7 meter pole in his camera kit and much more.
